I want to learn how to draw in PSP. Not using presets or vectors or nodes. Just plain draw with the paintbrush. I've tried teaching myself by playing around with the paintbrush tool but I get so frustrated that I can't get it right. :pu:

Are there any tuts online for this? I've searched to no avail! :(

You need to use the pen tool in freehand mode and turn up the "tracking" so that you get a line that is not all wavy.  Give that a try and get back to this post on how that works for you.

I am no expert by all means but what I have found is to try and look at a object with a differant eye and that is to try and break down the image into reflections and shadows and try to reproduce what I see on a new layer each time. Some times you see colors and shapes reflected that you would never imagine.

The good thing with psp is that you can delete or change a layer where as in real painting once its on the canvas it stays or you have to paint over.

Thanks for that. I didn't know about the tracking. I used to love to draw on paper with art pencils and charcoal. I don't think I could now. I'd love to learn with the Computer too.

I tried the 'Swamp' tut that Milarkee posted. I was able to learn new things with this tut and I appreciate that. I entered the finished product in the jff463.......

http://www.pluspsp.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=3985&forum_id=3

I did not do the leaves/foliage as I wanted a winter look to it.

Off to try the other tuts now! ;)

I followed the 'cartoon faces' tut and came up with this. Gosh! It takes sooo long to do this! I learned some more but still confused about Nodes and how to manipulate them. At one point the tut said to 'add more nodes as needed' but no explanation on HOW to add them. So my finished image is very crude but not too bad........

Add the nodes by holding down the ctrl key and moving the mouse over where you want the extra node then left click. She has a vector 101 tut there where nodes are explained....I only know this coz I did the 101....lol
