Two children, cold and lost in the forest in winter, find in a clearing a cottage made of  gingerbread, with candy canes, chocolates and marshmallows decorating it, and chocolate cookies for a footpath. It looks so safe and inviting, but it is a dangerous place because a witch lives there.

Vue 6 Pro Studio render. Cottage and children are Poser models imported as objects, Falling snow added in PhotoImpact 12.

Nat, I didn't make the candy for the house. It is a Poser model, and comes with the gingerbread and all the decorations. Thanks for the kind words.

You have to love that cookie sidewalk, Carol!  A terrific scene. ^(^( My fear is that the kids won't be able to follow the breadcrumb trail in the snow.  LOL

Poser is a 3d program which allows you to pose animals, people, props etc. and make realistic looking images. Poser's models can be imported into Vue and used in Vue images.

Poser is expensive, but there is a free program called Daz Studio which works in much the same way. That is available, and you can buy lots of models for it and for Poser from

http://www.daz3d.com

Poser itself comes from

Thank you, ladylane. You are very kind.

The tag is a map of the UK which I  filled with a rainbow gradient in PhotoImpact. Then I used it as a background in Xara 3D to make the animation with the revolving signature. I have used it for years, so they were very old versions of both programs that I used.

The picture did not take as long to make as some 3d images do. The gingerbread house, complete with its snowman and cookie path, is a Poser model, so all I had to do was save it in Poser ready to import into Vue 6 Pro Studio. The two children took the most time. I had to dress them, and pose them walking hand-in-hand in Poser. In Vue I made a snowy scene and added the wintry trees as an ecosystem on a flattened rectangle all across the scene. Then I imported the house and children, adjusted the position of everything till it looked right, then rendered it. The falling snow was added to the render in PhotoImpact. You can do snow in Vue, but it is very fiddly and never looks as good as PhotoImpact snow.

Morning Carol,

What a delightful image.  The house looks good enough to eat...
Playing with scene building must be facinating and time consuming.
You  made those kids look so real in their poses.

The snow effect is perfect. What a serene mood but we know
there is menace within.  LOL... Good play
