Vue 6 Pro Studio render, with Poser squirrel model imported as an object.

I was trying to emulate the effect you get when using the camera's long zoom to photograph a squirrel up in a tree. The squirrel stays sharp, especially its face, because that is where you focus. The branch it is sitting on is fairly sharp, as are nearby leaves, but, because of the zoom and limited depth of field, everything else is out of focus and blurred. Distant things are so blurred you cannot make out what they are.

I was quite pleased with the way Vue reproduced the effect, especially on the squirrel's tail because it is slanting away from the camera so is not so sharp as his face, but the tip curls back towards the camera so gets sharper.

I was trying differential focus in Vue 6 for the first time. I had tried it in earlier versions, but it did not look very natural. It is much better in Vue 6.

That worked extremely well Carol.  Really does look like you have taken a photo with the long zoom.

Very well done Carol.  This looks like the squirrel you used for the other challenge.

Thanks Betsy. This is the squirrel in the JFF - in fact I started with this picture and did all sorts of filters and effects on it.
