Narrow boats on the canals were an important form of transport during the Industrial Revolution in England. Coal, raw materials and manufactured goods almost all travelled on the waterways, and passengers were carried too as a cheaper, though rather slower, alternative to the horse drawn coaches. Today they are just as popular, but today's travellers are holiday makers, enjoying a leisurely, relaxing trip through the countryside. The cabin roof is always a favourite spot for the family dog to ride.

 This is neat Carol. We have a canal ride not far from here. It used to be a lot of fun. Haven't been there in years. Thanks for the memories.
