OK, the fact is that although I use PSP I've only just scratched the surface, so I have questions, some basic, that site members can help me with...but where do I post them?

How about a forum titled "How do I?" in which members of all levels can put their questions and problems, and which in time will build up into a "How do I" advice forum. Learners such as I could then view all posts to see if our problem has been covered before posting it.

In the meantime....

In PSP ver 8

How do I select single pics from a multi-pic picture tube?

At present I click on the pic tube tool, then select the tube I want, but then have little control over what appears on my canvas, I have to take what comes randomly, then delete the ones I don't want.

In fact it is easier for me to open any picture in my files, then copy and paste it onto my new canvas..at least that way I get what I want, put it where I want, and control it as I want. Picture tube to me is a pain.

Heeeeeeeeeeelp please

Carl

Hi Carl, Happy Easter!

Any queries can be posted in Plus Place. That is where members usually post questions. If youre looking for a further help, you could try our sister site, pspug, but most questions can be answered right here.
Your idea of opening, copying and pasting is the best option when dealing with mulitiply image tubs. I do the same thing for all my images/tubes. I gave up on the tube tool in version 8...LOL. There is the option of incremental and continuous which you could set when using the tube tool. You can change a tubes setting to reflet that so it works that way each time you use it.

I suggest that psp users create a folder under my docs called tubes and put their tubes & transparent images in there, put them into folders like dogs, candles, etc.
then do what you alreasy are doing, open, copy, paste. So much easier.

Hope that helps.

Lana thank you very much.

I find that tube tool is ok if you don't care what you are putting on the canvas, or where.

I'm a beggar for handling things the easy way.

Carl :)

Hiya Carl.

I hear ya on the tubing factor. Multi tubes are only good for storing in my opinion. For example one image in various colors to choose from.

I have done what you do. I will open a tube and save each image separately and then I thought well what is the difference between doing that and just saving an image I created as a psp image with a transparent background, really nothing. lol

So I find tubes useless. I personally like to have complete control over my graphic.

If I do create a tube I will save just one image as a tube and not several in one. The only purpose would be so I am not having to resize the image several times over if I am needing it in a different size as the tube palette conveniently resizes the image by simply sliding the resize bar up or down.

I love the "How Do I" section idea. It would save alot of searching in the other forums if you have a question.

Carl, did you know that you can open up your picture tube folder found in Program Files under Jasc Software?  If you open the picture tube folder, you can drag the tube you want down to your PSP that you already have open in your tray.  Or you can just double click on the tube file and it will open in psp.

Opening the multiple tube that way, you will see all the choices displayed at once and you can just use the selection tool to select, then copy the one choice that you want.

Holder, thanks for that info.

In fact after only a short think about what others have said I started doing that only a couple of days ago....Why haven't I done that before, well I'm ancient and plead 'A' Level Stupidity.)))

Thanks also for considering my idea, I just thought it might put all the queries and answers in one thread rather than have to search all forums to see if your problem has already been responded to. :pu:

No pressure, but I shall stamp my feet and squeeem and sqeeem and sqeeem.%^)

Cybershadow, you and I have one thing in common.  Keep it Simple.  I'm a duh person when it comes to drawing in PSP and will only attempt vectors if the tutorial asks me to use them.

I like your idea of "How do I?"  I only ask if I really feel the need.
